●"Obviously a difficult start to the day. Very strange loss, heartbreaker. Unexplainable."

●"I was to the point mentally where I said, things couldn't go any worse, things can only get brighter from this morning."

●"We should have closed it out. It could have been a 40-minute match, it's unfortunate. One of those matches that kind of test your spirit."

Soderling(全仏09)

●"It's always tough to play Roger, he really played well today. I had a few small chances in the second set, but overall he played too well for me today."

●"I had a few chances but he came up with some extremely good shots at important moments. I'm still happy. I had a great tournament. Roger was too good for me."

●"I know his game now. But I didn't play aggressive enough."

●"Every time I played Roger, after the match I always said, I played so bad today. Now I learned that it's not that I played bad, he makes me play bad. So that's what's so difficult playing against him."

●"Roger's game doesn't suit my game at all. He doesn't allow me to be aggressive. He always had me on the run today."

●"I tried to stay aggressive. I think that's you what have to do against Roger. He plays so well when he can take the initiative. But it didn't work today. He played too well and he didn't let me to be aggressive at all. So I have to change something for next time we play."

●"With Rafa, it's different. It's easier to be aggressive. In all my matches against Rafa I dictated the game, I dictated the play. But against Roger, it's been so far impossible to do that."

●"Yesterday, me and my coach were joking, you've beaten me nine times in a row, and we were joking nobody can beat me 10 times in a row. But we were wrong."

Roger, really, congrats to you, you really gave me a lesson in how to play tennis today. And to me you're the greatest player in history. So you really deserved to win this title."▼大会公式サイト:http://www.rolandgarros.com/en_FR/news/interviews/2009-06-07/200906071244394724325.html

Gonzalez(全仏09)

●"I never feel comfortable on the court because of him."

●"He was playing at a really high level, and I feel that the ball was moving a lot and I couldn't hit clearly the ball."

●"It was really tough, but I kept trying. I found my way, and he started to miss, like a couple of shots and I took it, and then I had bigger chances in the final set."

●"I think the big mistake was from the 42 on my serve. Even if he did like three good returns, I have a little bit doubts with my serve. I try to play with the first serve and instead to win some free points that I was doing in the past sets. But I feel the match on my hand, that's whyI didn't want to play with my second serve. That's the only mistake that I did. It's a mistake because I lost the match. If I win, maybe it can be a good decision."

●"I couldn't take him out of position."

●"Every time he can take me out of position. I'm not used to playing that way. I did a good job, coming back, but Soderling is playing really, really high level."

●"I made it very easy for him - I didn't attack him, I played very short."

●"I didn't play my best tennis, I didn't attack in any moment."

●"I played very short. When one player plays bad, he must lose - that's what happened today."

●“He didn’t surprise me because I know how he plays and how dangerous he can be.”

●“It’s not a tragedy, I had to lose one day. I must accept my defeats with the same level of calm that I accept my victories.”

●"I have to accept with the same calm when I win and when I lose. After four years I lose here, and the season continue."

●"It was more my fault than him playing well. I didn't play my best tennis and for that reason I lost. It wasn't my day."

●"I won four years in a row playing the same, that's the truth. This year I played the same and I lost. What happen? I lost. That's it."

▼"I made it very easy for him.":なるほど、自分より下手そうな相手に負けたときに使えそうな表現▼試合は実際こんな内容だったのでしょうか。

●"I couldn'tfind the rhythm throughout the whole match."

●"I was trying not to be frustrated with a lot of unforced errors. Tried to be positive and just wait for the chances."

●"He didn't give me a lot of chances. I didn't work for those chances. This is the problem."

●"I played too passive, and he played really solid from all the strokes."

●"He was playing a good match."

●"You have to give him credit forplaying tactically really smart and really good. Unfortunately, I had no solutions."

●"Physically I felt good, but it's just a bad day at the office. What can you do? This is sport."

●"Philipp is a clay court specialist, and he went out in a fiveset match and played incredibly well today."

●"I wasn't moving toward and just trying, move left, right, back, forth, trying to find the comfort zone. Didn't really work out."

●"My legs were really stuck. So if you have no explosive power and your legs are not dynamic enough on this surface, you have not a lot of chances if the guy plays such a high level as he played today."

●"I've played a lot, so mentally I'm a little bit exhausted."

In the third set, you were leading 32. You seemed to come back. At the end of thefifth game you were looking at the sky with your arms wide open."
